Eileen Chen, 15, a violinist in the Spring Valley High School orchestra program and a sophomore student in the Discovery Magnet program, was recently selected as the state winner for South Carolina Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Senior Strings Division Competition. She was the state winner of South Carolina MTNA Junior String Division Competition last year. She will go on to compete against other state winners from the Southern Division of the United States for first place to go on to Nationals.
