What are Career Clusters and why should I know about them?

Career clusters are a way of grouping careers with common features and skills. Careers grouped into the same cluster typically require similar education and training. Exploring clusters can be a useful way to find a good career match, especially if you have general areas of interest but are not sure what specific careers match those interests. Career clusters can also help you better understand how your coursework in school can prepare you for certain types of careers.

For more information about Career Clusters, please go to your Naviance account at naviance.com and click on the following: sign-in, students/family sign-in, 29229, Spring Valley High School, enter your school email address for username and your 6 digit birthday for your password. Please contact a Career Development Facilitator prior to June 8, 2018, if you have any questions:  Mrs. Ashworth (bashworth@richland2.org) or Mrs. Wright (vawright@richland2.org)

Parents - Why not explore and talk about careers with your student(s) over the summer?

NO LATE START

Due to testing, there will be NO LATE START CLASSES on Wednesday, June 6th. Please make a note of this!

Second Semester Exam Schedule

Guidelines

Exams are given during the final week of each semester.  All students are expected to take exams as scheduled -- exams cannot be taken early (in advance of the student’s assigned class).

Make-up exams may be given only under special circumstances which cause hardships such as surgery or death in the family (vacation plans, trips, etc. will not be considered as hardship situations.).  Make-up exams must be taken within three weeks of the original exam date. Written permission must be obtained from Dr. Silvernail to schedule a makeup exam. Approval to reschedule the exam does not excuse the absence. Students may not sign out of school during an exam period.

All students will be required to participate in the exam schedule. Seniors may exempt exams if they have 90% or above in a class (except End of Course exams). Seniors should receive notification of exemption status by the Friday before senior exams.
