Spring Valley's Varsity and JV Cheer teams participated in the Falcon Invitational on Tuesday, October 8.   Both teams received 1st place trophies for their performances.   The next competition for both teams will be the Spring Valley Invitational on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 6:00PM.  


Girls Golf
The Lady Vikings girls golf team defeated Heathwood Hall and Ridge View in a 9 hole tri-match at Woodlands Country Club yesterday in their last regular season match.  Spring Valley with a team score of 191, Heathwood Hall with a team score of 209 and Ridge View with a team score of 240.  Low medalist for Spring Valley was Juliana Sebastian with a 39, Heathwood Hall's Madison Branum with a 44 and Ridge View's Kianna Jones with a 49.  Other players contributing to team low scores were: Ebony Bennett, Madison Pobis and Sarah Labruce Temple.  Spring Valley seniors Juliana Sebastian, Ebony Bennett and Sarah Labruce Temple were recognized as they played in their last home match for Spring Valley.  Spring Valley ends their regular season with a 13-0-1 record and will be playing in the Upper State Championship on October 21st at Three Pines Golf Course in Woodruff, SC.  

JV Football
Thursday night the JV football team defeated Blythewood High School 41-20. The team captains were Anthony Hills on offense and Prince Howard-Whitaker for defense.
On offense, Tjuan Fulton scored on a 30 yard touchdown run. Kevin Owens then scored on a 65 yard run. This was followed by a Noah Davis touchdown run from the 12. Bryson Jones then added another touchdown run from 85 yards out. Kevin owens scored again late in the 4th to cap off the offensive scoring for the Vikings from 3 yards out.
On defense, we had several tackles for losses and one interception by Tjuan Fulton. R.J. Bacon was 4/6 on Pat's.

Boys Cross Country
Wednesday, the Boys Cross Country Team defeated RNE, Lugoff-Elgin, Wilson, and Providence  - with our JV Team. Matt Frierson, Bryan Hall, Steven Andreen, Cam Brandenburg, Carter Freeman and Shash Ravi were key in the victory. 

Next Wednesday, October 16th we run against Lexington, who has won the State Championship the last 4 years in a row and are currently ranked #2 team in the State.
