Softball - SV 9, Irmo 2
Girls Soccer
Last night, Spring Valley lost the Ashley Nicole Dent Memorial Game at Irmo High School by a score of 2-1 (tied 1-1 after regulation and overtime, Irmo 4-2 in PKs). Angie Downs scored the lone SV goal, while Meisha Draper and Kat Lenti made their penalty kicks. Alex Ramos played the entire game in goal, while Bayleigh Ponds substituted for penalty kicks.
Boys Soccer
Boys soccer was swept by defending state champions, Irmo, last night. Both games were nail bitingly close and both teams played with a lot of heart.
JV ripped shot after shot, but only found the back of the net once. Antonio Bisbal had the lone goal on a PK. JV dominated the second half, but the lackluster first half performance where they gave up two goals was the difference.
Varsity played a physical game and had the defending state champs on their heels for 80 minutes, but they just couldn't find the back of the net. Final Score Irmo 1-0.
Softball
Both the JV and varsity teams were victorious in a region matchup against Irmo. The JV team won by a score of 10-3, while the varsity took them down 9-2. The Vikings had quite a few offensive highlights, including a triple by Greer Killman, and an inside the park home run by Anna Davis. Next up for the varsity team is Dutch Fork at home on Thursday, April 3rd, while the JV team will take on White Knoll at the Valley tonight.
