Boys Tennis
The boys tennis team defeated Aiken 4-2 yesterday. Winning for Spring Valley at singles were Blake McGuirt, Noah Guyton, and Hayden Long. Winning at 2 doubles were Justin Stombler and Tyler Froelich. The boys play region opponent Lugoff Elgin today at 5:00 at Lugoff.
Boys Track
Last night the boys track team defeated RNE, Blythewood, Ridgeview and CA Johnson to finish the regular season at 12-0 and Region Champions. This is our 7th undefeated season in a row and our 7th Region Championship in a row.
Winning events for the Vikings were:
Jaylon Brown - high hurdles, intermediate hurdles
Jordan Bruner - high jump
Jack Timmerman - 800, 1600
Jalon Williams - shot put, discus
Clayton Brandenburg - pole vault
Jordan Rigon, Ben Garrett, Kimani Hayes, Jack Timmerman - 4x800
Girls Track
Girls Track win against Blythewood (22 to 117 SV), CA Johnson (0 to 123 SV), RNE (18 to 127 SV), and Ridge View (53 to 101 SV).
Last night we competed at RNE against CA Johnson, RNE, Blythewood, and Ridgeview. We were victorious and our current season record is 12-0 and our Region record is 5-0. We had an overall great night with some short highlights listed below:
-Claudia Cannon won both the 1 mile and 2 mile events with a personal record of 11:33 in the 2 mile.
-The 4x800m relay team looked great and won their race.
-Kennay Agnew, Lanesa Mahon, and Keisha Greene looked great in the 100m dash and took the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
-Raven Fleming and Alex Stephens came in 1st and 2nd for shot put and discus.
-Shauntel Smullen and Kailyn Taylor took first and second in the 800m run.
-Teana Gibbs and Keisha Greene are looking great in triple and long jump.
-Dominique Hill cleared 5 ft in the high jump and came in 2nd.
Our team appreciates all the words of encouragement that we have received as we continue to make a bid for State. We look forward to competing this Saturday at the Father Kelly Invitational at Bishop England High School.
