Dr. Rodgers, Spring Valley CATE Pre-Engineering teacher, brought the robotics team's VEX robots and small skyrise field to Summit Parkway Middle School on Friday, May 22nd for the students in Summit's STEM Institute of Design and Innovation (SIDI) program to investigate. The students learned about gear ratios, drive styles, and robot engineering as they explored the performance of a ping-pong ball launcher, two tricycle-bots (one with tank drive and one with arcade drive), and two skyrise robots (one with x-drive and one with arcade drive).
