Saturday, November 7th, four Spring Valley H.S. young ladies (Jenning Chen, Tanvi Mehta, Hanamei Shao, and Kristina Trifonova) participated in the Columbia College Math & Science Day for High School Girls Competition. For the second year in a row, Spring Valley girls swept the competition. Jenning Chen placed first in the written math competition with a perfect score. Jenning won a four-year scholarship in the amount of $1,000 per year to Columbia College. The team of Chen, Mehta, and Shao placed first in both the Problem Solving Competition and the Jeopardy Competition. SV Math Team advisors are Mrs. Stiffler and Mrs. Fowler. Congratulations to these dedicated young ladies!
