On February 11, 2016, Chef Nicholas Whittington from Johnson and Wales University talked to the students in Theresa Formyduval's Culinary Arts classes while he demonstrated a recipe called Thai Chickpea Stew. He was assisted by Frederick Frazier-Pelzer in the preparation and cooking of the ingredients in a Wok. The students learned about Culinary Arts careers and applying to a college as well as financial aid. All the students sampled the recipe and enjoyed the spices used. Chef Whittington was a J&W graduate and then worked at Disney World. From there, he traveled as a personal chef on the yacht of Steven Spielberg and then Jennifer Lopez. He was also a chef for LeBron James, President Obama, and others before returning to J&W as a Culinary Presenter. He hopes to one day be a professor at J&W.
