SV Varsity Football defeats RNE 49-48 in 4 OT

The SV Varsity Football team defeated arch rival Richland Northeast HS 49-48 in 4 OT at Harry Parone Stadium this past Saturday. The Vikings were led on defense by several key performers. Channing Tindall recorded 20 tackles and 3 Tackles for loss, London Thompson had 20 tackles and 2 tackles for loss, Paul Stokes had 14 tackles and 1 tackle for loss, Da'Prince Haynes had 11 tackles and 3 tackles for loss, Trevon Duckett had 13 tackles, John Crim had 12 tackles and Shaun Moore had 11 tackles. The kicking game was outstanding as well. Jake Hamilton had 2 Field goals, the longest being 43 yards. He also was 6-6 on Ext Points with the winning Ext Pt coming coming in the 4th OT. Bruce Williams averaged 44 yards a punt on 5 punts. He also had 2 touchbacks on kick offs. On offense the Vikings were led by the blocking of Jordan Stiffler who graded out at 98% and had 7 knockdown blocks and 2 pancakes. Chase Hayes had a 27 yard TD pass and a 8 yd TD run. Quincy Hill had a TD run and pass. Elbert Turner had a 27 yard touchdown catch and a big interception. Terrell Jackson and Da'Prince Haynes also had TD's for the Vikings. Cameron Thomas had 2 receptions for 41 yards including a big catch at the end of the game.
The Vikings are now 3-0 and travel for a big game vs 5 AAAAA powerhouse Sumter Friday night at 7:30.
