JV Football
Last Thursday night the JV football team won a hard fought game. Danny Evans rushed for two touchdowns. Maddox Harrell rushed for a touchdown and also threw a touchdown to Kyle Fortner. Calvin Johnson added two interceptions on defense. The JV team plays again Thursday August 31st at 6 at Spring Valley
Volleyball
The Lady Viking volleyball team had a busy night Monday. They took on both the Sumter Gamecocks and the Westwood Redhawks. Playing their first match against the Lady Gamecocks the Lady Vikings put forth a valiant effort, but lost both games 19-25. Danielle Simpson led the team with 6 kills in the second game while Mia Wooden and Ellianna Cunningham led the team in digs.
After the tough loss to the Gamecocks the Lady Vikings proved victorious against the Westwood Redhawks coming out of the match winning 2 games to the Redhawks’ 1. Westwood won the first game 25-10, but the Spring Valley girls rallied back to win the next two games 25-11 and 25-20.
Top performers include T’meah Burgess with 9 aces in the 3 games, Danielle Simpson with 10 kills, and Ellianna Cunningham and Aneisa Williams led the team in digs. The lady Vikings hit the road Tuesday, August 29th to battle the Lexington Wildcats and want you to come out and cheer the girls on when they play at home again on Thursday, August 31st against the White Knoll Timberwolves.
