The SV Varsity Football Team defeated arch rival Richland Northeast HS 45-7. The Vikings run their record to 3-0 and have won the Sword and Saber 6 times straight from their arch rival to continue the longest winning streak vs RNE. The Vikings were led on offense by Tate I'aulualo who had 15 rsuhes for 112 yards. Jaylon Morris had 3 carries for 76 yards and 2 TD's, JacQuez Terrell had 8 rushes for 99 yards and 1 TD, Anthony Wilson had 4 rushes for 36 yards and 1 TD and Marcus Simpson had 3 rushes for 56 yards and 1 TD. Quincy Hill had a 53 yard TD pass to Malik Wesley. Alex Herrera was 6-6 on Extra points had a 24 yard FG and a 38 yard punt. 

Defensively the Vikings were led by Channing Tindalls14 tackles and 1 tackle for loss, KeAndre Jones 9 tackles and 1 Tackle for loss, Max Shropshire 5 tackles, 1 sack and 1 tackle for loss, John Crim 4 tackles and 1 tackle for loss. Jaylen Keels 4 tackles and 2 assists DJ Skelton had 2 Interceptions. Anthony Wilson had a 3 tackles and 1 tackle for loss. Jalen Geiger had 2 tackles and 1 assist. Anteon Ervin had 4 tackles, 2 tackles for loss and 1 sack.   
The Vikings host 3-0 Sumter this Friday in the last regular season game. We need a huge crowd for this game between Top 10 teams.

The BTeam football team defeated Clover last night 54-33 behind 3 TD's by Paul Davis and a stingy and aggressive 2nd half defense.

Volleyball

Varsity
The Lady Vikings Volleyball team played their first region game on 8/29 against the lady Wildcats of Lexington High School. The match was a tough one for the Vikings as they fell in a 3 game sweep to the Wildcats. Though the end result was a loss, the Lady Vikings fought hard and had some key standouts. In game one Eliahna Cunningham led the team with 3 aces, while T’meah Burgess and Danielle Simpson led the team in kills. Though the team had many great rallies they fell in a 9-25 loss against the Wildcats. In game two the Lady Vikings started strong, but lost momentum losing the game 13-25. In the final game of the match the Lady Vikings gave it all they had, with a team total of 10 kills and 4 aces. This put the lady Vikings ahead until the final stretch. Within the final points of the game, the Lady Vikings couldn’t hang on and lost 20-25. The Lady Vikings will suit up again this Thursday to face the Lady Timberwolves of White Knoll at home! Come out and support them the varsity match will start at 7:00pm.

The lady Vikings Volleyball team defeated White Knoll at Home Thursday, Sept 31st. The Vikings are now 5-4-1 overall and 1-1 in the region. Special shout out to Sophomore Alisha Pitt and Junior Mikaila Widner making their Varsity debut; Pitt with 5 Kills, 1 Block and 100% in serves and Widner with 7 Digs, 1 Assist, 80% in serves.  Junior Chandler Murria led the team with 6 Kills and 2 Blocks. Senior T'Meyah Burgess had a great game with 22 Assists, 1 Block, 7 Digs, 1 Ace and 3 Kills.

JV
The Lady Vikings JV Volleyball squad faced off 8/29 against the Lady Wildcats of Lexington High School in their first region match of the season. They played a hard fought match but fell short in both games. The first game the Lady Vikings started slow and ended the game with a 9-25 loss. In the second game the Lady Vikings had key player, Mikaila Widener, return from an ankle injury. Mikaila played with a vengeance and helped her team score 9 of their 22 points and played a key role in the Lady Vikings defensive game. She kept the ball off the floor while middle hitter Alicia Pitt put it away on the other side. Even though the Lady Vikings fought hard they still fell short losing 22-25 in the final game. The Lady Vikings will be back on the court Thursday evening at 5:30pm to face off against the White Knoll Timberwolves.

Girls Golf

Lady Vikings took on the Ridge View Lady Blazers in their home opener 8/28 at Woodlands country club.  It was a tight battle throughout most of the matches, but Spring Valley came out on top in the end. Lady Vikings team score of 232 overcomes Lady Blazers score of 242.  Scoring for the Lady Vikings were: Payton Starmack, Caroline Lumpkin, Paris Stevenson and Millie Spivey.  

Freshman Millie Spivey starting in her first varsity match, made her first career par on the first hole of her match.  While Payton Starmack had one birdie on her way to being the overall low medalist for the match.
