Tuesday, September 5th the Girls Tennis team defeated Lexington 4-3.

Swimming

The boys and girls Viking swim teams had their first dual meet against Blythewood Wednesday night at home.  Both the girls and boys won with the girl's score of 100-69 and the boy's score of 104-66.

Double winners were:  Jonathan Frye (50, 100Free), Dan Todd (200 Free, 100 Fly), Caroline Agostini (200 Free, 100 Back), and Anna Frye (100 Free, 100 Breast).
Single winners were: Ann Ryan Alexander (400 Free), Michael Gunnlaugsson (100 Back), Kelsey Green (100 Fly), and Anne Lobitz (100 Free). 

The boys won the 200 Medley (Gregg, Seay, Todd, Frye), 200 Free (Wallick, Gonda, Reiland, Seay) and 400 Free (Gregg, Urs, Wallick, Todd) relays.  The girls won the 200 medley (Agostini, Frye, Greene, Randall), 200 Free (Lobitz, Alexander, Agostini, Frye), and 400 Free (Alexander, Lobitz, Randall, Greene) relays.  

Girls Golf

Despite the rainy conditions Wednesday night, the Lady Vikings were hosted by the Lady Bengals at Columbia Country Club.  The Lady Bengals showed why they are a very experienced veteran team and too much for the young Lady Vikings to overcome.  The Lady Bengals take the match with a team score of 158 to the Lady Vikings team score of 230. 

Overall low medalist was Blythewood's Parker Stalvey shooting a par round of 36.  Low medalist for Spring Valley was Payton Starmack shooting 40.  The other Lady Vikings contributing to the team score were: Caroline Lumpkin, Kayla Spivey, and Millie Sox.

On Thursday night the Lady Vikings hosted a tri-match at Woodlands Country Club, against AC Flora and White Knoll yesterday under perfect golfing conditions.  The AC Flora Falcons were flying high with a team score of 189, to defeat Spring Valley's score of 235 and White Knoll's score of 252.

Overall low medalist for the match was the Lady Viking's Payton Starmack shooting a low round of 39 her season best so far.  Other contributors to the team score were: Millie Sox, Kayla Spivey, and Paris Stevenson.  The Lady Vikings run their record to 3-3 overall for the season.

Football

SV Varsity Football Team Defeated Sumter HS 51-34 last Thursday night to move their record to 4-0. The Vikings were led on offense by the running of Tate I'aulauolo 75 yards and 1 TD, Jaylon Morris 84 yards and Quincy Hill with 77 yards and 1 TD. Malik Wesley had 5 receptions for 209 yards and 3 TD's and 1 2 Pt conversion from QB Quincy Hill. Jalen Geiger had a 19 yard reverse for a TD. Alex Hererra was 5-6 on Extra points and kicked a 28 yard FG. Donovan Toomer led the offensive line with 7 knockdown blocks and 2 extra effort plays.

The Vikings were led on defense by Ajani Tonge who had 5 tackles a fumble recover for a 38 yard touchdown. CJ Barnes had 11 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 tackles for loss and caused fumble and recovered fumble. Channing Tindall had 17 tackles and 1 TFL, KeAndre Jones had 11 tackles and caused fumble and a recovered fumble. Max Shropshire, John Crim, and Jeremiah Hammonds all had 5 tackles and DJ Skelton had 7 tackles. The Vikings defense scored their 3rd defensive touchdown of the year.

The Vikings travel to Lexington HS on Friday for the first region game. The Vikings are now 4-0. This will be a huge game and we need a big crowd
