The U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics projects a 20-percent overall increase in employment for beauty professionals from 2008–2018, a much faster growth than the average for all occupations.* This growth includes an increase for all areas of the beauty industry, including cosmetology, barbering, esthetics, and other skin care specialists.
