Spring Valley High School linebacker Channing Tindall will receive his US Army All-American Game jersey today.
The senior will play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on January 6, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas. The U.S. Army All-American Bowl is the nation’s premier high school All-American game, featuring the best 100 players in an annual East vs. West matchup.
“This is a great honor for an outstanding student and athlete,” said Spring Valley High School Principal Jeff Temoney. “I am very proud of the moves Channing makes on and off the field.”
This has been an eventful year for Channing. He was named team captain. He will also play in the 2017 SC Shrine Bowl and is a finalist for Mr. Football. He is the No. 2 ranked player by Scout & 247 Sports Recruiting Service and was invited to the Under Armour All-American Game, played on the same day as the All-American game. Channing was the Nike Opening Top Linebacker at the 2017 Atlanta Camp.
“The entire Spring Valley High School football team is extremely excited that Channing Tindall has been selected to play in the prestigious US Army All-American game,” said Head football Coach Robin H. Bacon. “Spring Valley has a strong football tradition, and Channing is the latest Viking to be selected for an All-American game.”
Channing’s hard work isn’t confined to the football field. He is involved with the Circle of Friends, mentors middle and elementary school students, volunteers with the Feed the Homeless program at Journey Methodist Church.
