SVHS Alumni JJ Milakovich
JJ Milakovich a Spring Valley alumni just won the audition to be a clarinetist in the Premier Washington Army Band "Pershing's Own". He also won the premier Army Band position with West Point last month, but held out to complete the Washington position and won it. After leaving Spring Valley as our Drum Major in 2011 and 2012, and Principal Clarinet with the SV Symphonic Band, JJ went to DePaul University to major in clarinet performance. After graduating, he then earned scholarships to earn his Masters Degree in Clarinet Performance at Northwestern University, where he also won the clarinet position in the Chicago Civic Orchestra.

JJ will head to Washington where he will also join another Spring Valley clarinetist Erik Franklin. Eric was a Drum Major in 2006 and 2007 and had a full ride to Furman, then completed his grad work at Indiana University School of Music. Erik has been the Principal Clarinetist with the Premier Washington Army Field Band for the past five years. They are currently on tour on the west coast.
