The Varsity Girls Soccer team traveled to Columbia International University to take on Ben Lippen in a non-region Match. In a match that saw Ben Lippen focused on defending, the Viking attack was patient with their ball movement. It took longer than normal for the Vikings to get on the board as Karah Barry crashed the goal and put in a loose ball that the keeper could not hold onto. Late in the first, Caroline Brindel was able to put another rebound in to make the score 2-0 at halftime. In the second half, Maya Hamzy was able to stretch the lead to 3-0 and Karah Barry scored her second to cap the scoring at 4. Due to injuries on both sides, the teams agreed to call the game in the 64th minute.
The Vikings will return home in a key non-region match Monday as they take on West Florence. Students get in free with their ID if they arrive prior to 6:15.

Boy's Golf
At Just past the mid-point of our golf season, the SV Golf Team Has defeated 30 opponents in matches and tournaments.
The team had a 6th place finish at the Magnolia Invitational March 25-26 and followed it up with a First Place finish and the First Annual Blazer Open. The weather was cold and wet but it turned out to be great Viking weather. The tournament field included all of their region opponents (Sumter, Blythewood, Irmo, and Lugoff-Elgin) as well as several strong teams from the Midlands (Lexington, River Bluff, Easley and Camden). The conclusion of the tournament round ended with SV tied with Lexington HS. The tournament was decided by a play-off on the scorecards of the lowest scorer for each team. Viking junior Trace McDonald parred the first hole which was enough to edge out Lexington.
