On Thursday night the Viking B-team Football team lost a close game to Dutch Fork 34-22. Evan Javis scored 3 touchdown's and Keyshawn Osby threw for approximately 200 yards. The B team will be back in action next week vs River Bluff.
JV
The JV football team lost a tough one last night to a very good Dutch Fork Team. Players who had outstanding games last night were Devin Martin who had an incredible interception. Also having good defensive performances were David Squires, Elijah Stokes, and Zay Haigler. On offense, the Vikings were lead by Kashawn Ralands strong running. The offensive line was led by Amin Gaines and Kameron Terrell who had some great blocks. The Vikings will be at home for their first game against Brookland Cayce at 7:30 next Thursday. It will be the first home game.

The Varsity football team lost their first game against defending state champion and #1 ranked Dutch Fork High School on Friday night. The Vikings had several outstanding performances. The defense was led by Josh Skelton who had 7 tackles and 1 interception. OT Nkiri had 10 tackles and 1 sack and Paul Davis had 6 tackles and 1 interception. Coby Cornelius had 8 tackles as well. The defense played outstanding. On offense, the Vikings were led by sophomore QB DeQuandre Smith who completed 15/20 passes with no interceptions. His leading receiver was Quanta Jackson who had 5 receptions for 55 yards. Dallas Carraway and Nick Solomons did a good job on the offensive line.
The Varsity team will travel to Brookland Cayce at 7:30 this Friday night.Girl's Golf

The Lady Vikings golf team traveled to Indian River to take on the White Knoll Timberwolves in their season opener match. It was a hard-fought match that ended with both teams shooting 207 to end in a tie.
Sophomore Maddie Webster, was the low medalist for Spring Valley and Anna Smith the low medalist for White Knoll. Other Lady Viking's contributing to team score were Junior Millie Spivey, Senior Mary Freeman, and eighth-grader Elaine Craig.
The Lady Vikings will have their home opener August 29 taking on the AC Flora Falcons at Woodlands CC.

It was a beautiful afternoon at the Woodlands Country club as the SV lady Vikings took on the AC Flora lady falcons in their season opener. It was a close match as the lady Falcons team score of 205 edged out the lady Vikings team score of 211.
Low medalist honors for each team were SV Millie Spivey and ACF Gracie McInnis. Gracie McInnis was also the overall low medalist by one stroke. Other lady Vikings contributing to overall team score were: Mary Freeman, Maddie Webster, and Millie Sox.
The lady Vikings will be back in action on Tuesday, Sept 3rd taking on the Ridge View lady Blazers at the Windermere Golf course.
Boy's Cross Country

On Wednesday the Vikings competed against Northwestern and Irmo at Clemson Extension. The Vikings finished 2nd to Northwestern by 1 point: Northwestern 31, Spring Valley 32, Irmo 69. Individually Jacob Ho was 2nd in 17:09, Andrew Polson was 4th in 18:10, Fernando Castro was 5th in 18:19, Jaden Bowden was 9th in 18:48, Tyler Shuler was 12th in 19:06, Jack Stacy was 13th in 19:07, and Ethan Taylor was 14th in 19:10. The JV team defeated Irmo and Northwestern: Spring Valley 17, Northwestern 44, Irmo 81. Leading the JV team was Henry Pettis in 19:20, Mark Wild in 19:31, Simon Wyatt in 19:41, Patrick Kittrell in 20:05, and David Conroy in 20:06

On Thursday night, both the Spring Valley girls and boys swim teams competed against Blythewood in their first meet of the season. The SV girls A medley, 200 free and 400 free relays all took first place while the SV girls B relay for the medley and 200 free came in 3rd. Individual winners were Caroline Agostini ( 1st-200 free, 1st-100 back), Anna Frye (1st-50 free, 1st-100 free), Ann Ryan Alexander (1st-100 fly, 1st-400 free), Ellis Murray (2nd-200 IM, 2nd-100 back), Elizabeth Johnson (2nd-50 free, 2nd-100 fly), Bella Cannon (2nd-200 free), and Anna Todd (3rd-100 back). Additional points winners for the girls were Marta Tremolada, Simron Tippabhatla, Zoey Fowler, and Anisha Griffin
All three SV boys A relays continued the winning streak of the night with first-place finishes and the SV boys B relay placed 3rd int the 400 free relay. Dan Todd (200 free, 100 fly), Jojo Frye (200 IM, 100 breast), Ethan Ho (100 back), and Larkin Shearin (50 free) all won first place. with Asa Arnold (50 free) and Rhett Moore (100 fly, 200 IM) finishing second while Sachet Urs (200 free), Luke Zhang (50 free), Pedro Roberston (400 free), and Patrick Quirk (100 back) placed third. Additional points winners for the boys were Robert Young, Case Alexander, Kaden Moracco, and Sammy Urs
The Spring Valley Vikings finished the meet off with a win from the girls and the boys. The Lady Vikings beat the Blythwood girls 96-74 and the boys ended the night with a score of 104-66. Great job Viking swim
Volleyball

Spring valley Lady Vikings volleyball JV crushed the Cavaliers 25-13 and 25-18 with Dayonna Merritt leading with 5 kills and Destiny Brown with 4 service aces.
Varsity followed suit and finished the Cavaliers off 25-10, 25-15, and 25-9. Senior Alisha Pitt racked up 7 blocks while teammate Elise Taylor stacked up with 16 kills.
The Lady Vikings are currently 3-0.
