Spring Valley High School Air Force JROTC has been selected for the Air Force JROTC 2013-2014 Distinguished Unit Award (DUA). This national award recognizes Air Force Junior ROTC units that have performed above normal expectations, and that have distinguished themselves through outstanding service to their school and community while meeting the Air Force ROTC mission of producing better citizens for America.
The objective of the Junior ROTC program is to educate and train high school cadets in citizenship and life skills; promote
community service, instill responsibility, character, and self-discipline
through character education, and to provide instruction in air and space
fundamentals.
Major Frank Ward and Chief Master Sergeant Perry Langston and the cadets created a dynamic and supportive learning environment coupled with an excellent community outreach.
