SV Swim Teams compete at State Meet
The JV volleyball team participated in the Lugoff-Elgin HS JV Jam Tournament, which is a Dig Pink Tournament supporting Breast Cancer Awareness. The team got off to a slow start in pool play with a loss against Cardinal Newman. They rebounded with back to back wins against Waccamaw HS and Columbia High. Spring Valley finished out the morning with another loss to Lugoff Elgin HS. Their record from the morning placed the team in the bronze division playoff. The team won the first game of the single elimination playoff. The final playoff game was against Andrew Jackson HS. This was a hard fought 3 game match resulting in a Bronze Division win for the Spring Valley JV volleyball team.
Varsity Football
The SV varsity football team lost a heart breaker to Blythewood 15-12 last Friday night. The Vikings were led on offense by Ty'Juan Fulton who had 2 TD's. He also had 4 receptions for 54 yards Kevin Owens completed 7 passes for 77 yards and a TD. On defense the Vikings were led by Seniors Jordan Williams, Ja"lon Williams, Davon Keith, Tyler Frazier and De'Marcus Muscove. Junior Cameron Jones also had a good game. The Vikings will be at home this Friday against Lugoff-Elgin at 7:30 at Harry Parone Stadium.
Swim Teams
The SVHS Swim Team was downtown at the Sol Blatt Natatorium for the State Championships. It was a successful season, evidenced by both teams winning the Region Championships. In this meet, the success continued, highlighted by a State Championship for the boys 4 x 100 Freestyle Relay of Alex Gregg, Carl Lobitz, Matthew Greene and Thomas Agostini and a 3rd place medal for Carl Lobitz in the 100 Butterfly. In the end, the girls finished 17th and the boys finished 10th in the State. Team members and events (places if applicable):
