Veterans Appreciation Day November 10th

On Nov. 10th, Spring Valley HS is recognizing our veterans with a breakfast in the Media Center from 8 am until 8:50 am followed by a school-wide Veterans Appreciation Assembly at 9:00 am in the gym.  The Spring Valley High School Band will be performing alongside the 282nd Army Band from Fort Jackson some patriotic tunes in honor of those who have served or who are now serving in the Armed Forces.

In addition to the breakfast to honor our veterans, we are also planning a number of activities on campus to educate our students about the history and significance of Veterans Day which will be commemorated on Nov. 11, and the importance and privilege of “The Pledge of Allegiance” to the United States flag.  We’ve asked our students and staff to wear Red, White and Blue on Nov. 10 to show their patriotism. We have also asked our teachers to embed some Veterans Day activities in their classroom throughout the day.

If you have served or are currently serving in the Armed Forces, we would love to have you with or without uniform as our guest. The front lot of the school will be reserved for our veterans and a reserved seating section will be available in the gym. Spring Valley students who park in the Atrium lot will park in the upper lot that day.

Please join us on Nov. 10   for this important celebration.
