Krishna Gorrepati, a Discovery junior, attended the International Sustainable World Energy, Engineering, and Environment Project Olympiad (I-SWEEEP) held in Houston, Texas May 7th - 11th. Krishna was selected to represent our state/country by carrying the flags during the Opening Ceremony. Krishna, whose project was titled "The Effect of a P-N TiO2/Cu2O/ITO Composite Junction Created Using Electron Beam Evaporation on a Shewanella oneidensis MR1 Powered Microbial Coupled Photochemical Fuel Cell" was selected to compete at I-SWEEEP at the 2015 University of South Carolina Region II Science and Engineering Fair. At I-SWEEEP, Krishna won a bronze medal and $150. Congratulations to Krishna, his parents, and his research teacher, Mrs. Michelle Spigner!
