Girls Track
The Lady Vikings Track & Field team had a great weekend, finishing 2nd overall at the Raising Canes/Azalea Invitational in Summerville. Highlights from the track include 2 athletes advancing to the finals in the 100 hurdles with Courtney Pratt finishing 2nd and Chaylana Scott in 4th. In the 800m, Gabrielle McGee grabbed a 2nd place finish. Mikayla Turner finished 7th in the 400m. Sophomore Danielle Murrin had a good day finishing 4th in the 1 Mile and 7th in the 2 Mile. Freshman Jasmine Hughley had another solid performance in the 400m hurdles, finishing 3rd. Sprinter Amaryah White finished 4th in the 200m dash. In the relays, a 5th place finish in the 4x800 (Jasmine Hughley, Sunshine Spiva, Paige Waters, Gabrielle McGee), 3rd place in the 4x100 (Mikayla Turner, Chyna Thompson, Torian Ward, Amaryah White) and 4th in the 4x400 (Amaryah White, Torian Ward, Gabrielle McGee, Mikayla Turner).
In the Field events, Yvonne Thomas finished 5th in the Pole Vault. Breha Fulford placed in her 2 events with 4th in the Shot Put and 5th in the Discus. Ikia Morgan finished 7th in the High Jump.
The action continues Tuesday at home with Dual Meet action against Lower Richland and CA Johnson and Saturday at Dutch Fork for the Silver Fox Invitational. Please come out and support the Lady Vikings.
Softball
Lexington Wildcat Invitational - The softball team went 1-4 this past weekend. Losses came to Gray Collegiate, White Knoll, Fort Mill and Lexington, with the victory coming over Irmo. Overall record on the year goes to 2 - 5. We will play Cardinal Newman at home on Wednesday, and will continue region play Friday at Irmo.
