The Spring Valley Vikings Varsity Football team defeated Blythewood HS 28-0 Friday night to run their record to 9-1. The Vikings were led on offense by Anthony Wilson who had 9 carries for 166 yards and 3 TD's. Jaylon Morris had 6 rushes for 72 yards. Malik Wesley had 2 receptions for 50 yards. Craig Cash had 3 knockdown blocks and 2 pancakes to lead the offense line. On Special Teams Alex Herrera had a 51 yard punt and was 4-4 on Extra points.
On Defense the Vikings were led by Channing Tindall had 15 tackles and a sack and a caused fumble. K'onte Brown had 7 tackles, 3 sacks, 1 TFL and 1 forced fumble. CJ Barnes had 3 tackles and 1 sack. DJ Skelton had 4 tackles and an interception. Ajani Tonge had 4 tackles and a pass break up.
The Vikings finished 2nd in the region and will host the first round game against West Ashley at 7:30 here at Harry Parone stadium. We need a huge crowd to support the Vikings as they start the playoffs.
Due to playoffs there will be no student discount on tickets and faculty WILL NOT be free of charge. Only SCHSL passes will be excepted. Tickets will go on sale Friday at lunch for $7 a piece and students can buy as many as needed.
