Varsity Football
The Spring Valley Varsity football team defeated West Ashley 28-0 in the first round of the playoffs.
The Vikings were led on offense by Jaylon Morris who had 73 yards rushing and 2 TD
Quincy Hill had a 3 yard touchdown run and Tate I'aulaulo had a 3 Yd TD run. The Viking offensive line had a great game with Donovan Toomer grading out at 91%, Aidan Long grading out at 93% and Craig Cash grading out at 88%.Malik Wesley had 1 reception for 45 yards. Alex Herrera was 4-4 for Extra points and had a 38 yard punt average.
On defense the Vikings were led by ChanningTindall who had 18 tackles and 2 sacks. KeAndre Jones had 8 tackles. Anteon Ervin had 10 tackles. CJ Barnes had an interception as well on defense.
The Vikings are now 10-1 and head to Conway in the second round of the play offs. The game will be at Conway at 7:30
Boys Cross Country
Saturday, the Boys Cross Country Team placed 7th at the State Championship. Although a respectable finish, we were hoping for a better day. The highlight of the day was Steven Andreen placing 9th overall and earning All State status.
The team finished the year at 12-0 in the regular season, placing in the top 3 in 3 Invitationals (winning one), placing 2nd at Region and 7th at State. Congratulations to our Vikings.
