Guest Pianist Dr.Michael Tsalka

Spring Valley students in fine arts and social studies classes were fortunate enough today to witness international pianist, Dr. Michael Tsalka. Michael is one of the best early keyboard musicians of his generation. A native of Israel, he trained as a pianist in Europe and in the US. Michael is touring the East Coast of the US this month giving a concert for the opening of the newly founded Carolina Music Museum in Greenville. As a fortepianist, Michael lives and breathes new life into music from the Baroque through the early Romantic era.

Dr. Tsalka presented a concert for our students today which he has entitled "The Roots of Romanticism". Dr. Patrick Hawkins,  Spring Valley choir director and Dr. Tsalka performed selections on two rare pianos one built-in 1790 and the other built-in 1830.  Thank You, Dr. Michael Tsalka impacting our students with your talent.
