Last night, the girl's soccer team won a thriller against Irmo. Up two goals at halftime, Spring Valley seemed in control until Irmo rallied to tie the game at 2-2. SV hit the crossbar late and had another very near miss minutes earlier, but the game went to overtime....where Irmo scored in OT #1. SV rallied in OT #2 to tie the game at 3, and then the game went to PK's. Irmo's GK saved SV's first 3 PKs, but SV's Jaden Parker also had a save combined with two Irmo misses during the first five kicks. SV made their final two kicks for a 2-2 tie after five. Both teams made the 6th, then Parker saved Irmo's 7th. Caroline Brindel followed with the game-winner for SV. Statistics below.
The Junior Varsity team was defeated in PK's after a 0-0 tie through regulation....no statistics available at this time.
Both teams play Monday at Lugoff-Elgin.
