The Lady Vikings won all 6 courts yesterday to make it a clean sweep against Fort Mill. Winning for Spring Valley were Crawford Latham (6-0 6-2), Kate McMillen (6-0 6-2), Chyna Thompson (7-6 6-3), Pallavi Rao (6-1 6-0), Allie Wierzbowski (6-1 6-1) and the #2 doubles team of Taylor Williams/ Summer Gayles (6-1 6-1).

The Lady Vikings had their home opener yesterday at the Woodlands country club. They hosted the AC Flora Falcons and the Heathwood Hall Highlanders, along with two players from Northside Christian Academy.
The Lady Vikings had steady play from some veteran golfers, but couldn't hold off AC Flora's top 3. The Falcons top 3 golfers posting scores in the 40's to take the overall match 187 to the Lady Vikings 214. Heathwood Highlanders young inexperienced players scoring 257. Northside Christian's #1 golfer was the overall low medalist shooting a score of 40.
Low Medalist for the Lady Vikings was senior Madeline Kay. Other contributors for the Lady Vikings were: Maddie Webster, Millie Spivey and first-time contributor Mary Freeman.
The Lady Vikings will travel to Windermere on Thursday to take on the Ridge View Blazers.

It was a hot and muggy afternoon at Windermere country club yesterday as the Lady Vikings golf team took on the Ridge View Blazers. Spring Valley's #1 and #2 played steadily to help carry the team to victory putting up a team score of 217 against Ridge View's 226. Low Medalist for Spring Valley was senior Madeline Kay, with her career-low score for the year. Hot on her trail was Millie Spivey only one stroke behind. Other team score contributors were Mary Freeman and Millie Sox.

The Lady Vikings Varsity fell to Cardinal Newman on Tuesday, August 28th; 22-25, 20-25, 14-25. Junior Alisha Pitt led the team will 6 Kills with Senior Chandler Murria close behind with 4 Kills. Senior Mia Wooden led the team with 12 Digs and Junior Lelia Richardson led the team with 4 Aces serving at 100% for the evening. Senior Mikaila Widener served at 100% for the night as well collecting 1 Ace along the way. Senior Setter Aneisa Williams finished the match with 14 assists.
Junior Varsity won their match versus Cardinal Newman 25-21, 23-25, 15-8. Sophomore Jessica Wigley served at 100% for the night with 4 being Aces. Wigley along with Sophmore Destiny Brown and Freshman Jordan Mitchell each contributed to the win with 4 Kills each. Freshman Setter Jessica Bailey finished the match with 12 assists.

The Varsity and JV Lady Vikings beat the RNE Cavs this past Thursday, August 30th, at our Student Night Opener! Thanks to the Viking cheerleaders, parents, students, faculty and staff that came out to support and make some noise for these amazing athletes!!
Varsity beat RNE in 3 sets; 25-18, 25-21, 25-23. Junior, Alisha Pitt led the team with a whopping 14 Kills and 2 Blocks and Sophomore, Elise Taylor followed her up with 7 Kills. Senior, Aneisa Williams racked up 25 Assists for the Kill throughout the match. Junior Libero, Mikaila Widener dominated the back row with 20 serve receptions and 12 Digs. Special shout out to Junior, Lelia Richardson and Senior, Mia Wooden for their serves, bringing us back on top from a 10 point deficit! Way to go Lady Vikings!!
JV beat RNE in 2 sets: 25-10, 25-22. Shout out to Sophmore, Jessica Wigley with 7 Kills and 1 Ace, Sophomore Libero, Kira Wooden with 10 digs, 14 receptions and 1 Ace, Freshman, Cydney Cooper with 4 Aces and 5 Digs and Freshman, Jessica Bailey with 11 Assists for the night. Way to go JV!!
Our next match at home will be Thursday, September 6th versus Westwood High School! JV kicks off at 5:30 and Varsity at 6:00. Hope to see you there to cheer us on!

The JV team defeated Brookland Cayce 42-7 on Thursday night. The Vikings had touchdowns from the following players. DeQuandre Smith 2 touchdowns, Josh Skelton, Christian Myers, Harrison Gowland all had 1 TD each. Thomas Livoti had a 2 Point extra point. The defense was led by Ty Wise who had a 68-yard interception return for a Touchdown. The offensive line was led by James Beard, Nicholas Solomon, and Sean Sullivan. The defense was led by Danny Evans, Calvin Johnson, Ty Wise and Ricky Coard.
The JV team will travel to Richland Northeast this Thursday at 6:00.
