The 2019 Trashion Show, sponsored by the Leonard Gardner chapter of the National Honor Society, was a success! Through the Trashion Show, our goal was to raise awareness for how much we throw away as a society and encourage others to repurpose their “trash.” This year, we had a total of 25 designs entered into the show from 10 different clubs/organizations at Spring Valley, including our Air Force JROTC, Key Club, the Environmental Assistance Organization, the National Art Honor Society, and the Technology Student Association. Thanks to the hard work and contributions of our participants and the Spring Valley community, we were able to raise over $500 for Souper Bowl of Caring, an organization that encourages young people to fight hunger and poverty in their communities.
The outfits were judged based on workmanship, originality, and use of recycled materials. We would like to extend a big thank you to Dr. Lars Seiler, Mr. Cristian Ugro, and Mrs. Allison Bird for selecting our winners!
