Girl's Soccer
3/5
It was another night of celebrating for the Varsity Girls Soccer team as they beat White Knoll 2-1. The Vikings again created several chances early but could not find the back of the net and went into halftime tied 0-0. 7 minutes into the second half is when Sr. Maya Hamzy was able to break through off of an assist from Abby Kim. 9 minutes later White Knoll, who had been averaging over 4 goals a game, put their only score in. But the Vikings were not to be denied and with 2 minutes left, Fr. Sydney Hudock scored on a free kick right over the Timberwolf keeper. This is the girl's 3rd straight win as their record improves to 4-1. Friday they travel to Camden to take on the Bulldogs in another non-region game.

In a rain-shortened game, the Varsity girls soccer team came out with a 2-0 win over the Camden Bulldogs. As has been the case in most of the games this season, the Vikings came out with early pressure and early opportunities. But it wasn't until midway through the half that Abby Kim was able to put the pass from Maya Hamzy into the back of the net. Caitlin Aycock added the 2nd goal off of a rebound in the box. Due to the conditions, the officials called the game at the half. The girls are now 5-1, having won 4 straight. This is also the team's 4th shutout on the season. The girl's soccer team will return to action Tuesday as they open region play on the road at Irmo.
The team would like to thank the students that took advantage of the free admission before 6:15. Our next home game will be Thursday against Lugoff-Elgin.
