The JV Vikings football team played Blythwood last night in a huge Region game. The Bengals got off to a fast start in the first quarter with a big passing touchdown on 3rd and 20, to take a 6-0 lead as there 2 point attempt was stuffed by the Vikings stout defense. In the second quarter, the Vikings recovered a muffed punt that would end up getting the Vikings on the board with a Thomas Livoti 35 yard field goal. The score remained 6-3 at halftime. Halfway through the third quarter Brock Lambert connected on an 80-yard touchdown pass to Wykee Ward. The Thomas Livoti extra point made it 10-6 Vikings! That is how the game would end with the Vikings claiming the Region Championship!! Go Vikings!

The Spring Valley Varsity football team defeated Blythewood HS 42-21 last Friday night to finish second in the region and get a home playoff game this Friday night against Westside.
The Vikings were led on offense by QB DeQuandre Smith who completed 21 of 23 Passes for 237 Yards 3 TD’s and 1 2pt. Conversion. He also rushed 14 Times for 45 Yards and 1 Touchdown. Quanta Jackson had 1 Catch for 60 Yards and 1 TD, Hunter Rogers had 4 Catches for 75 Yards and 1 TD He also was 1 of 1 Passing with a 60 Yard Passing TD. Elijah Bryant had 6 Catches for 86 Yards with 1 TD and 1 2pt. Conversion.
On defense, the Vikings were led by LB Paul Davis who had 13 Total Tackles and 1 Tackle For Loss and 1 PBU. DB John Javis had 4 Total Tackles, 1 Interception, and 1 pass break up. LB David Squires had 8 Total Tackles and 1 interception. DE Trey Peterson had 5 tackles and 2 tackles for loss. The Vikings defense had 2 goal-line stands to preserve the win. On special teams. Quanta Jackson 2 kick-off Returns for 84 Yards and 1 TD. 1 return was for 80 yards and a TD.
The Vikings play in the first round of the playoffs at home against Westside at 7:30 this Friday here at Harry Parone Stadium. We need a big crowd for the game.
