Several Girls Track & Field Athletes Qualify for State Qualifiers on May 10th

JV Boys Soccer
SVJV Boys Soccer wins their region title for the third year in a row after defeating Irmo 1-0.  The boys finished their regular season with a 5-0 victory over Dreher.  Their record is 12-2-2.  They play this weekend in the end of season Irmo Tournament against the top programs in the state.  Good luck to the boys!

Boys Soccer
Varsity boys soccer is building some late season momentum. They traveled to Hartsville (11-5) and dominated the game in every aspect. The final score was 4-0 with goals from Caleb Jaedicke (2), Duncan Myer, and Alex Kohel. The boys host Rock Hill for senior night on Monday. Come out and support SV boys soccer!
Girls Track & Field
The Lady Viking Track & Field team competed in the Region Meet last night at home. In each event, the athletes needed to come in the top 4 competitors in order to be able to run in State Qualifier on May 10th. Region Meet is not scored, the purpose is to advance to the Qualifier. Some highlights of the night include:

Our All Region athletes:
-Senior Hannah Staudt in pole vault
-Senior Keisha Greene in long jump (also qualified with the 4x100 relay).
-Senior Raven Fleming in high jump with a personal record of 5 ft 2 inches (also qualified with shot put and discus).
-Junior Kennay Agnew in the 100m dash (also qualified in the 200m dash, the 4x100 relay, and the 4 x 400 relay).
-Freshman Claudia Cannon in the 1 mile and 2 mile.

-Seniors Shauntel Smullen and Kailyn Taylor came in 2nd and 3rd in the 800m and both will advance to qualifier.

Many of our individual athletes qualified and all of our relays (they are too numerous to list). The majority of our varsity team will advance and that puts us one step closer to State Meet. Please continue to encourage our young ladies.

Softball
The Vikings lost to a tough Summerville team yesterday in the first round of the playoffs.  The girls look to bounce back tonight in a win or go home game vs. White Knoll. Game starts at 6 here at Spring Valley.  Come out and support the girls!
