Spring Valley Students Exemplify Service Above Self

Spring Valley JROTC has established a partnership with Lonnie B Nelson Elementary school in which cadets participate as classroom helpers for assigned teachers. Principals, administrators, teachers, and yes even elementary students welcomed 23 Spring Valley cadets to their school on October 28th. Cadets ranging from 9th - 12th grade helped teachers in their rooms, participated in reading circles, escorted students to special assemblies, and brightened the day of students throughout the school. Cadets each 2nd and 4th Wednesday have chosen to forego the extra sleep afforded them on "late start Wednesday" to encourage young people and represent their School. In fact, almost half of those cadets partnering with the school, chose to mentor young people prior to taking their PSAT exams that morning. Cadets daily recite the Air Force core values of Integrity, Service Before Self, and Excellence in all we do. Partnering  with Lonnie B Nelson elementary school and connecting with young people is just one way Spring Valley students are serving our community.

Regular Schedule Resumes October 26th

logoFullName

Dear Richland Two Families,

Beginning, Monday, October 26, we will return to a normal schedule. Students should report to the bus stop or school at normal time starting next week. All half-day classes and after-school programs will also resume their regular schedules.

We greatly appreciate your patience during the delayed starts for the past two weeks. This provided valuable time for our bus drivers to become familiar with routes altered due to road closures. At this time we believe we can safely return to our normal schedule.

Until all roads are reopened, however, we expect some buses to experience delays of up to 20 minutes due to longer routes and traffic congestion. Students should still report to their bus stops at normal time. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we work to return to our normal operating schedule.

Information about make-up days is available on the Richland School District Two website.

All of the inclement weather make up days on the school calendar will be used to make up for missed days. Students will have school on February 15th, March 25th, and April 29th. Additionally, January 4th will now be a school day.

Congratulations to our "TAG" Students

Every day, teachers, administrators, and counselors at Spring Valley look for students to "TAG". Students get TAGed by offering assistance to others, helping keep our school safe or clean, turning in lost and found items, good citizenship, being helpful to peers, or simply showing a little Viking pride. Each month, to show that we’re “Thinking of the Good Things You Do,” all TAG students will be recognized and will receive a token of appreciation from the school. Congratulations to the TAG students for the month of October!
