Cadet Earns National Award at Science Fair

Our own, C/Lt Col Casey Carter was one of seven students from SC to present in poster session and an oral presentation in a half week long science fair and symposium in Austin TX. Student delegates represented their states amongst top high school researchers from across the Nation. Not only did she demonstrate the feasibility of her patent-pending research project, but she was bestowed the Lifetime Fellow Award by the American Junior Academy of Science and National Association of Academies of Science. Furthering the aims of JROTC commitment to STEM, her ground-breaking research on safer football helmets will help slow the tide of concussion-related injuries.

Vikings Sports Wrap

Girls Lacrosse

Spring Valley Girls Lacrosse visited Lexington on Wednesday, February 21st for the first game of the 2018 season for both teams.

The Vikings offense worked cohesively to score 10 goals against the Lexington Wildcats. Hannah Huntley had 6 goals, Ashlee Nall had 2 goals, and Turner Prewitt and Payton Starmack both scored one goal each.

Scoring goals were not our only strength during this game - we had several assists as well! Both Hannah Huntley and Turner Prewitt had 4 assists each, along with Ashlee Nall having one assist.

Our defense was strong, communicated well, and worked together to lessen the shots on goal throughout the game. Our crashing was superb, and our man-to-man defense was looking fantastic!

The Lexington Wildcats had 16 shots on goal. Viking goalie, Tianna Fuller, only allowed 6 goals. Tianna’s reaction times were quick and she was ready for anything coming her way!

Way to go, Vikings!!

The Vikings next game is in the gorgeous Hilton Head Island on Saturday, March 3rd, 2018. Come watch us play, we love the support from our awesome fans!
