Spring Valley High Viking Air Force Jr. ROTC wins the 8th Annual South Carolina State University JROTC Drill Championship. The Award Winning Spring Valley High School Viking Air Force JROTC Drill Team displayed outstanding showmanship in winning the 2013 8th Annual 2013 South Carolina State University (SCSU) JROTC Drill Competition at SCSU in Orangeburg, S.C., Saturday, March 2, 2013. The National Honor Society of Pershing Rifles hosts this drill championship which was sponsored by the South Carolina University ROTC. The award winning National ranked Spring Valley High School Drill Team defeated eight (8) Low Country Regional U.S. Air Force and Army High Schools. The team won 13 trophies to include eleven (11) first places, (1) second place, and one third place to win the overall National Society of Pershing Rifles JROTC Championship.
Congratulations to Cadet Major Evan Woodward Drill Team Commander, his Deputies: Cadet Captain Brandon Solomon, and Cadet Chief Master Sgt Trey Townsend for their outstanding leadership. The team coach is Chief Master Sgt. Perry Langston ®. Major Frank Ward is the detachment SC-064 Commander.
