Softball: SV 5, White Knoll 4:
Softball
The softball team was able to beat the visiting White Knoll Timberwolves in an exciting fashion. White Knoll took an early 2-0 lead, but our girls were able to take advantage of the opportunities they gave us. Our first lead of the game came in the bottom of the 6th inning, when Anna Davis hit a double off the wall, allowing Breanna Martinez to score the go ahead run from first. The girls hope to continue their playoff run today at South Florence. Wish the girls luck!
JV Boys Soccer
The JV boys' soccer team split up into two teams for the end of season tournament in Irmo.
The Gold team beat Indian Land 1-0, tied Airport 0-0, and tied Cardinal Newman 0-0. They beat Brookland Cayce (a top five 3A program) 3-2 in the third place consolation game.
The Green team beat River Bluff 2-0 (#4 in 3A), tied Fort Mill 1-1 (#5 in 4A), and beat Irmo 3-0 (#4 in 4A). They beat Wando (the #1 program in 4A) 2-1 in the championship game. The tournament MVP trophy went to freshman, Bruce Williams, for his outstanding defensive efforts.
The boys worked very hard this season and finished with a region title and what we consider the JV state title. Their final record was 17-2-4 and 7-1 in the region.
