The SV National Honor Society raised $500 though a cookie sale to support the work of the International Fistula Foundation. The money will be used to provide emergency medical care to young women in sub-Saharan African countries, like Ethiopia, of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where women who suffer from obstetric fistulas have a difficult time to receive medical treatment. A surgery to repair a fistula costs $450.
