Congratulations to SVHS Photography Students

Congratulations to the Spring Valley High photo students that had their work selected to be exhibited in the 2015 SC Schools Photography competition. The competitive exhibit is an annual event run by Winthrop University and professor of Fine Arts, Phil Moody. This year's show was judged by USC's photography program coordinator and professional photographer, Kathleen Robbins. The exhibit of 33 selected high school photographs will be exhibited in the Columbia Museum of Art's Education Gallery through February with a reception on February 7th at noon.

Students from across the state could submit up to 3 images to be considered for the competition. The following SV students had work selected that can be viewed on the Columbia Museum of Art website.

In summary, out of the 33 photos chosen, Spring Valley was represented the most with 9 images. In addition, Saipriya and Nikitha have placed in the top 3 from the show. We will find out the day of the reception what place they were awarded with 1st place being a $200 prize, 2nd being $100 and 3rd being $50.
