Did you know that 140 million Americans watch the Super Bowl football game every year? Meanwhile, about 50 million Americans struggle to put food on the table every day. This is a problem that we can face. This year, we, as a school, will be raising money in order to tackle hunger through Souper Bowl of Caring. This is a national youth-led movement to channel the excitement of the football game that, since it was started 24 years ago, has raised over 100 million dollars for those in need. The cool thing is, Souper Bowl of Caring started right here in Columbia, with students that went to Spring Valley. Please donate any spare change in the purple boxes in teacher's classrooms. Also, for one dollar, you can buy a paper football, write your name on it, and put it on the back wall on the first floor. These can be purchased from any Call 2 Action member and some teachers. All funds raised will go directly to the Gamecock Pantry. Do your part. Together, we can tackle hunger.
