The Spring Valley Vikings Football Summer Conditioning Program will begin on June 8th at 8:00 AM at Bates Hall in front of the stadium. We will lift Monday-Thursday, 8:00-11:00 AM, every week Except July 6th-9th. This is for all rising 9th-12th graders who plan on playing football in the fall. Football players should bring the following items to work outs: shorts, shirts, cleats for outside, running shoes for the weight room and a water bottle. There will be water fountains in the weight room and a water trough outside but a water bottle with ice is encouraged. It is highly recommended that your son try to make as many of the summer work outs as possible. This is an integral part of our football program and allows your son to get acclimated to the extreme hot weather we will experience in July/August. We lift, run and implement our offense and defensive systems over the summer during these work outs. Those players who do not attend summer workouts must pass a conditioning test before practicing to ensure their fitness to participate. Those Varsity players who make 80% of their summer workouts will be rewarded with their name on the back of the jersey. Those players who have lifted since January will receive a T-Shirt. Any players who attend a football camp during weight-lifting days will count. They will have to document attendance at any football camps. We highly encourage you to schedule those camps if possible on Friday, Saturdays and Sundays. For those students who plan to work we encourage them to tell their employees our schedule and work their schedule around the summer workouts.
*** All football players will need to turn in a new physical form before June 11th to Coach Paul Dobyns Athletic Trainer. The physical must be dated after April 1st 2015 to continue to participate in summer weight lifting and it must be the original and not a copy.
*** Mandatory Parents Meeting Wednesday July 22nd 6:00 PM Auditorium.
*** Varsity and JV football try-outs begin on Friday July 31st, Saturday August 1st and Monday August 3rd from 8:00 AM-12:00.
B Team Practice will begin Monday August 3rd 9:00-11:00 AM .
