Varsity Football
The Spring Valley Varsity football team defeats Lugoff-Elgin HS 58-21 Friday night. The Vikings were led on offense by Ryan Lee who had 11 rushes for 111 yards and 1 TD. Ty'Juan Fulton had 12 rushes for 152 yards and 4 TD's. Terrell Jackson had 56 yards and 1 TD and Peyton Pendarvis had 46 yards rushing. RJ Bacon had 2 receptions for 87 yards and 1 TD. Bruce Williams had a 25 yard FG. The Viking offensive line of Prince Howard, Ty Tallant, Henry Brown, Jordan Stiffler and Brandon Johnson helped the vikings rush for 390 yards. 
On defense the Vikings were led by Cameron Jones who had 5 tackles 1 interception returned 42 yards for a TD and 55 yard punt return for a TD. Shawn Moore had 9 tackles, 1 Tackle for loss, 1 caused fumble and 1 fumble recovery. Kenan Reed had 10 tackles. Justin Haynes had 6 tackles and 1 Tackle for loss. Channing Tindall and Peyton Pendarvis both caused fumbles. 
The Vikings are 1-0 in the region and have a huge game with Dutch Fork this Friday at  Dutch Fork. 

Boys Cross Country
Saturday, the Boys Cross Country Team hosted the Sandhills Invitational. 51 schools registered - there were over 350 runners on the line for several of the races. Our boys finished a respectable 7th. This Thursday is our Region Meet at Sandhills at5:30pm. It will be a very tight meet between us and Dutch Fork. Please support the boys this week.



Swim Teams
The AAAA State Swim finals (hosted by SVHS) were held Saturday evening at the Sol Blatt Natatorium.  Led by Carl Lobitz, the Viking boy's swam to a 4th place finish and the girl's to a 12th place finish (both up 6 spots from last year).  

Car Lobitz had the biggest day possible, capturing 4 gold medals.  Winning the 50 Free (21.50), the 100 Free (47.29) and 2 relays with Matthew Greene, Ryan Staudt and Jonathan Frye (winning the 200 Free Relay in 1:28.51, a new school record) and with Green, Frye and Alex Gregg (winning the 400 Free Relay in 3:15.11).

Other top 10 finishers:
200 Medley Relay of Tori Agostini, Anna Frye, Annie Lobitz and Breland Green

400 Free Relay of T. Agostini, Caroline Agostini, Green and Anna Frye

Jonathan Frye, 6th in the 200 IM and 4th in the 100 Breaststroke

Alex Gregg, 6th in the 100 Free

Tori Agostini, 4th in the 100 Backstroke
