On Friday 3/18 and Saturday 3/19, students Josh Roper, Paul Dubberly, Maggie McKissen, and Nick Junker from Spring Valley's chapter of the Technology Student Association (TSA) competed at the SC TSA State Conference in Myrtle Beach. They represented Spring Valley's robotics team, 120E Green & Gold Robotics, and focused on the TSA VEX Robotics event.  They finished 2nd in robot driving skills and 3rd in robot programming skills.  Then they won their quarterfinal match against team 7432 Dutch Fork High School, but lost their semifinal match against team 916A Center for Advanced Technical Studies (CATS), who lost in the finals to team 9447A Palmetto Scholars Academy (PSA). Overall, the SC TSA sends 3 teams Tournament Champion, Design Award winner, and Excellence Award winner to represent SC in the national TSA competition. PSA was the Tournament Champion, CATS won the Design Award, and Spring Valley won the Excellence Award. So, as the Excellence Award winner, Spring Valley will join PSA and CATS to represent SC and compete in the TSA VEX Robotics event at the 2016 National TSA Conference in Nashville, TN this summer.
