Girls Lacrosse
In a hard fought defensive battle Spring Valley girl’s lacrosse defeated Dutch Fork 4-2 at home Monday night. The game had a slow start with both teams’ offense unable to score thanks in large part to the well executed defense. Senior attacker Breanna Seawell made her way onto the board 8 minutes in and the score remained 1-0 until the last few minutes of the half when the Silver Foxes chipped in a penalty shot to close the half.

The second half was equally as contentious as both teams saw the win within their grasp. Ainsley Cherubin added a second goal, which was then answered by Dutch Fork, keeping the game tied. The Vikings finally pulled away in the last 10 minutes thanks to another goal by Ainsley Cherubin and a penalty shot by Payton Starmack.

The Vikings improve to 4-3 while Dutch Fork falls to 3-7. The Vikings’ next home game is Wednesday, March 23rd at 6:00pm against Ridge View High School. Come out and cheer your Vikings to victory!
