It is that time of year for the selection of Palmetto Girls State and Boys State Delegates. This is a huge honor to be considered and possibly chosen to represent Spring Valley High School. Eligibility of delegates is limited to girls and boys who have completed their junior or third year of high school and who will return to high school as seniors in August.
Potential delegates must possess the following qualifications and/or characteristics: Nominees to Palmetto Girls and Boys State should be the best leaders from the school and community and should be young women of strong, moral character.
The week is a hands-on application of government and citizenship. Delegates will participate in mock political activities at all levels of government by creating the mythical state of “Palmetto.”
