Varsity Girls Basketball
The Lady Vikings varsity basketball team had a great run over the holiday break going 5-0 and moving their overall record to (10-2).  On 12/16 the Vikes defeated region opponent White Knoll by a score of 80-39.  Leading the way in scoring was Ashley Williamson with 24 points as well as Kristian Wall & Destiny Coleman both with 15 points respectively.  The Lady Vikings then competed in the District 9 Officials Tourney in Sumter, SC from 12/27-12/30.  During game #1 of the tourney the Vikes defeated Crestwood 64-59 with Ashley Willamson leading the way with 17 points, followed by Lauryn Taylor with 15 points and Kristian Wall with 11 points.  Game 2 of the tournament brought a 71-49 victory over Lakewood.  4 players scored in double digits during the contest.  Ashley Williams scored 19 points, Destiny Coleman also contributed 18 points, and Kristian Wall & Lauryn Taylor both had 15 points.  The next game brought a 79-54 victory over Hartsville.  Ashley Williamson scored 26 points, followed by Lauryn Taylor with 18, Baylor Davis with 11, and Destiny Coleman with 10.  The Vikes claimed the District 9 Championship title with a 63-54 win over Newberry.  Ashley Williamson was named tournament MVP with a 26 point performance.  Destiny Coleman contributed with a solid defensive effort and also chipped in 11 points, followed by Kristian Wall with 10 points.  The Lady Vikings play at home tonight vs. Westwood at 6:00PM as well as Friday at 6:00PM vs. region foe Irmo.

Wrestling
The Viking Wrestling team hosted the Sumter Gamecocks and the Edisto Cougars for a tri-meet last night.  The Vikings started the night with a 45-27 win over the Sumter Gamecocks and finished with a 66-18 win over the Edisto Cougars.  The varsity wrestling team will travel to Rock Hill this weekend for the Bearcat Invitational, and the junior varsity will head to Camden for the first round of the JV state tournament.  Go Vikings!
