Congratulations to Spring Valley English
teacher Ms. Jennifer Bartell! Ms. Bartell has been chosen to be a Teachers
Guild Fellow for the 2017-2018 school year! She will travel to San Francisco at the end of July for a two-day fellowship training and will then return to Columbia where she will begin sharing design thinking with the Valley and the District. Guild Fellows will spend a year with The Guild to create change for and from their classroom. Throughout this one year fellowship, she will design an innovative solution, share it across the school or district, and be part of a cohort of 10 exceptional educators from across the U.S. who believes in the power of teacher ideas to transform education from the ground up.
The Teacher's Guild published Ms. Bartell's lesson #WeNeedDiverseBooks in April 2017 as part of the "How might we build empathy for and across students so that we serve their diverse needs and better understand other?" collaboration with RSD2.
