National Scholastic Art Winner

Congratulations to Spring Valley senior Kayla Hunter for winning a National Scholastic Art Award with her photograph "Kindling". Her silver key award is a high level of distinction for her and establishes the Spring Valley High Visual Arts program as a national presence having had students win national recognition for their artwork 7 of the last 8 years.

The state of South Carolina has only won 20 total national awards in visual arts with only 6 traditional public schools being represented. Spring Valley is proud to be one of the public schools to have a student receive this high level of distinction.
