PSAT Test Day is Coming...Are You Ready?

Just a reminder...

On Wednesday, October 11, 2017,  ALL Spring Valley Freshmen and Sophomores will take the PSAT. The PSAT is FREE for Freshmen and Sophomore students (provided by Richland Two and the SCDE). 

Juniors who wish to take the PSAT must register through the Career Center in the Office of School Counseling and pay the $16.00 registration fee (only PSAT scores from the junior year make students eligible for Merit Scholarships).  The deadline to register for Juniors is Friday, October 6, 2017.  Juniors can register before school, during lunch or after school.

Week of October 9-13: After School Detention Change

After school detention will be held on Monday, October 9, Tuesday, October 10, and Wednesday, October 11 next week. It WILL NOT be held on Thursday, October 12.  Students can stay the normal times during the changed days.

After school detention will return to the regular schedule (Tuesday - Thursday) the following week of October 16-20.

Make-Up Day for Yearbook Pictures...

Yearbook Picture Make-up Day will be Tuesday, October 24 in the Multi-Purpose for all 9th, 10th, and 11th graders (NOT 12th graders) from 8:30-4:00.  Individual passes will be sent out to those students that did not have a yearbook picture taken during Orientation.  Students wishing to retake a picture may come in during lunch or after school.   

For seniors, if you have not taken your senior portrait with Lifetouch, you need to call 788-1605 ASAP and set up a date in the studio. The deadline for studio dates is October 14.

HURRICANE RELIEF

Key Club with the help of NHS will be collecting monetary donations for victims of the recent Hurricanes from September  25th- October 6th.  Donations can be made at the atrium desk, media center, or to any Key Club or NHS member.  We will be collecting in the mornings and after school at the car rider line and also during lunch in the commons and main gym.  Every little bit will help!  Your change can make a change!  For more information please see any Key Club member and/or advisor.
