The Sparkleberry Country Fair Committee will award individual 1,000 college scholarships to selected Richland District Two graduating high school seniors. Monies for these scholarships were raised during the 2012 Sparkleberry Country Fair, along with donations from the Marine Corps Coordinating Council of South Carolina, the Northeast Kiwanis Club, First Citizens Bank and other business/community sponsors. Members of the Sparkleberry Country Fair Scholarship Committee select the students who receive these scholarships.
Eligible students must be planning to attend a South Carolina college or university during the 2012-2013 school year. Click Here to download application from the district website.
Students have a deadline of Friday, March 1, 2013 to submit their completed applications and wallet sized photos to their school guidance departments with a request for their official transcript copy. The school guidance departments have a deadline of Friday, March 8, 2013 to send the applications with wallet sized photos of the students and official transcript copies (by district mail) to the Richland Two Administrative Offices, Attn: Kathy Chappell.
Students selected for these scholarships should attend, if at all possible, the awards ceremony on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 6 p.m. in the Clemson Sandhill Research and Education Center Lake House. Parents/guardians, principals, college/career facilitators and guidance counselors are also most cordially invited to attend this event hosted by the Sparkleberry Country Fair Committee.
The scholarship checks will be available for students to pick up, upon verification of their enrollment at a South Carolina college or university (i.e. an official copy of their course schedule), along with a photo ID, at First Citizens Bank 9800 Two Notch Road (corner of Two Notch and Polo Roads).
