Congratulations Spring Valley Air Force JROTC Drill Team


Spring Valley High School Viking Air Force JROTC wins the 2013 Low Country Drill Regional  Championship at Charleston Southern University.

Spring Valley’s Vikings Drill Team defeated 12 Army and Air Force High Schools to win the 2013 Low Country Regional Championship for the 18th consecutive year.  The competition was hosted by Charleston Southern University (CSU) Aerospace Club, Saturday, February 9, 2013.  


The team placed first overall.  The Viking Drill Team maintained the 2013 Hunley Sword Saber Award for their superior leadership abilities in drill and accomplishments, military bearing, and overall excellence for the “best overall” drill team in the state's low country region of South Carolina.  The Viking Drill Team also won the first place overall Bowl Trophy, additionally, they placed first in six major categories and placed 2nd and 3rd in other categories.  

The drill commanders are Cadet Major Evan Woodward and his deputy commanders are Cadet Captain Trey Townsend and Brandon Solomons.  The team coach is Chief Master Sergeant (retired) Perry Langston.  Major Frank Ward is commander for this national and state championship team.
