Wrestling

Both the varsity and JV wrestling teams traveled to Dutch Fork last night and wrestled both Dutch Fork and Dreher.  The team lost to Dutch Fork and dropped a very close match to Dreher, but gained invaluable experience.  The team was led by Seniors Rene Rodriguez and Brandyn Thompson and Juniors Ford Tolar and Philip Siegel who all finished the night with perfect records.  The JV team is in action Friday night as they host the Voyager Academy varsity team.  Special recognition is deserved for the following group of freshmen - MacQuise Simpson, Kyle Coward, Jordan Stiffler and Lee Moore. These freshman represented Spring Valley well as varsity wrestlers making the coaching staff extremely excited about the future of our program.   Both teams return to the mat Saturday as they compete in 5 matches.  Saturday, December 7th, Spring Valley host the Capitol Hyundai and Chevy Midlands Challenge.  Wrestling begins at 9 am Saturday as 10 teams will wrestle both in the main and auxiliary gym.  Admission Saturday is $7.00, so come out and support our wrestling teams.
